Short Bio.

Jen-Jee Chen received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and information engineering from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2001 and 2003, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from NCTU, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2009. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, IL, USA, during the 2007–2008 academic year and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering, NCTU, Taiwan, during 2010–2011. Before he joined the College of Artificial Intelligence, NCTU, Taiwan, where he is currently an Associate Professor and the Director at the Institute of Intelligent Systems, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National University of Tainan, Taiwan, from 2011 to 2019. (On 1 February 2021, NCTU was merged with National Yang-Ming University into the newly formed National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.)

Dr. Chen served as a reviewer of over 30 computer and communication journals such as the Computer Networks, Wireless Networks, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and IEEE Trans. on Vehicular Technology, and as a TPC member of over 50 computer and communication conferences such as ICDCS, WCNC, GLOBECOM and NOMS. He received the Best Paper Award at APNOMS 2013 and APNOMS 2019, the Best Paper Award at MC 2012-2015, MC 2017, WASN 2019, and ITAOI 2022, and the Best Poster Award at MC 2017.

His research interests include AI, 5G V2X and IoT, Robotics and Assistive Applications, AI Medical Health, and Mobile Computing. Dr. Chen is a member of IEEE and Phi Tau Phi Society.
